Fundraising has begun to “Preserve the Venice Depot’s Circus Train Heritage!” With your help, Venice Area Historical Society will bring a retired circus train car to the Historic Venice Depot Campus. VAHS has found an ideal car built by Pullman Standard at the Florida Rail Road Museum, and must raise $225,000 to purchase it, restore and reconfigure it, prepare the Depot site to receive it, and prepare educational exhibits for the interior that will illustrate how railroad history and circus history are intertwined, both locally and nationally.
